toxic cola

In India, tests have found that the major soft drink brands contain four toxic chemicals: lindane, DDT, malathion and chlorpyrifos. The Indian units of Coca-Cola and Pepsi deny the allegations.

The tests were conducted by the
Centre for Science and the Environment. The health minister of Andhra Pradesh now says that they will conduct random tests on drinks to determine the extent of the problem.

And there's more. The Pollution Control Board in the state of Kerala has asked Coca-Cola not to emit sludge from its factory because they've found toxic levels of cadmium in samples from the plant.
